A couple of weeks ago, we -my family and I- discovered that an expecting family of birds had chosen our house to build their nest.
I must confess for a moment, we were concerned about them leaving a mess in our front door, or that eventually we would be doing all sorts of contortionisms to avoid bird "droppings".
At a glance, we only share a tiny little part of our house...
We witnessed the process of incubation, and ever since we've seen the parents bringing fresh worms and insects to the newborn birds.
Checking on them has become part of our routine! Now every time I go outside, I make sure I don't scare the mother bird -who is usually taking care of the nest- or the father bird, who is very loud and agile, yes he seems to get a little bit more protective than the mother bird.

It`s interesting how they build their nest in a way that we can see the hatchlings from the inside of our house! Almost like if they also wanted to see us! Maybe we are as amusing to those newborns, as they are to us!
